Webhooks are an intuitive method of collecting data by having real-time events push their information onto a provided URL. Triggering webhook events will automatically send and store relevant details for data analysis.
Note: Webhooks via UI configuration are available for Location at the Site level only, which requires placing your APs on a floorplan in order to get data. Webhooks are also available for device events, audit logs, and client sessions at both the Org and Site level.
Currently the Mist Webhooks have capabilities for these specific API topics:
- Location Coordinates: Data sent at regular intervals of less than 1 second
- Zone Entry and Exit Events: Data pushed any time a client enters or exits one of these areas
- Virtual Beacon Entry and Exit Events: Data pushed any time a client enters or exits one of these areas
- Raw Data for Named Assets – RSSI & Payload: Data sent at regular intervals of less than 1 second
- Audits: Data sent when orgs are access or changes are made to configuration
- Device-events: Raw events from devices.
- Alarms: Mist defined alarm events configurable on a per-site basis in the alert framework.
- And more topics.
Note: We have broken Webhook details into its own AI for IT course in Mist Courses.
