What is Premium Analytics?
Premium Analytics is an advanced analytics service where users can run reports over datasets at a more granular level, mix and match different datasets and observe data going back up to 13 months. It correlates and analyses long-term Networking and Location datasets from Mist cloud and optionally datasets from 3rd party networking solutions to generate business insights for IT and Line of Business users.
What is the difference between analytics features available in the Mist dashboard (Network, Engagement, and Occupancy analytics) and Premium analytics?
The Network, Engagement, and Occupancy analytics reports built into the Mist dashboard are also known as freemium analytics. The table below has the comparison

How long can PMA store the data?
By default, it is 13 months. We can extend it upon request via a support ticket.
Can PMA support single sign-on with Mist credentials?
Not supported at present; it will be supported in near future.
After PMA is activated, can it build reports from historical data?
Mist dashboard can store only 30 days’ worth of historical data. When PMA is activated, it can start only from -30 days.
Can PMA reports be customized?
The report structure and widgets cannot be customized. However, all PMA reports include rich filters like date, time, site, Devices, interfaces, WLAN, etc.
Does PMA support RBAC to enable specific reports to specific users?
It is not supported at present. However, it can be enabled in the backend upon request via a support ticket.
How to integrate 3rd party data into Premium analytics?
This needs development work and can be taken up via professional services engagement.
Does PMA support API?
No, PMA is a data visualization tool which is consuming data from the Mist dashboard.

Are there any additional steps needed to activate PMA after applying for SUBS?
After purchase, the customer should create a Support ticket and request the reports to be enabled. PMA service does not get enabled by default, unlike other SUBS.
Can PMA subscriptions be applied to specific sites?
No, it is applied to the whole Org.
How are PMA subscriptions counted?
Just like other Mist subscriptions, these are counted against the number of devices (AP, Switch, Wan Edges)
Are there any dependencies for enabling PMA subscriptions?
Depending on the data set that is needed as part of the mist premium analytics visibility, the corresponding base subscription service would need to be procured as well. Example: Wi-Fi-based network or location analytics to feed data into the Premium Analytics Service will require a Wireless Assurance subscription to be enabled as a pre-requisite.
