Cradlepoint Onboarding
To Onboard Cradlepoint devices into Mist, customers need to link their Cradlepoint NetCloud account to the Mist org.
Onboarding steps
- Generate the required API token from NetCloud Dashboard using below navigation.
- From NetCloud Dashboard
- Navigate to Tools> NetCloud AP
- Click on API Portal – save X-CP-API-ID and X-CP-API-KEY
- Navigate back to Tools> NetCloud API > Create API Key
- Click ‘Add’ and generate Full User Role Keys.
- Save X-ECM-API-ID, X-ECM-API-KEY
- Once we have ‘X-CP-API-ID, X-CP-API-KEY, X-ECM-API-ID, X-ECM-API-KEY ‘;
2 – Request to Login to Mist Dashboard and Navigate to below screen on Mist Dashboard
- Organization>Settings
- Scroll to ‘Third Party Token’
- Click Create, select Cellular Edge and Enter the saved keys.
3 – One should be able to see the CradlePoint entry in the table after a successful integration
Prerequisites
- Marvis subscription is required.
- At the minimum, One of the Mist Device Type is deployed on the site.
- Cradlepoint devices are managed from NetCloud
Cradlepoint Offboarding
Steps to unlink the Cradlepoint account for Mist Org.
- Navigate to Organization on the left pane, select Settings under Admin
- Click Cradlepoint Entry and Click Delete.
2 – Table will not have any key entry post delete and Cellular Edge Inventory will be cleared as well
Cradlepoint Inventory
- Navigate to Organization on the left pane, select Settings under Admin
- Organization > Inventory
- Click on ‘Cellular Edges’
In case empty, click on ‘Sync Cellular Edges’
All the CradlePoint inventory for supported devices W1850, W1855, W2005, E3000, W4005, R1900, AER2200, CBA850; will get synced from NetCloud and show on Mist Dashboard’s Inventory.
Note: Additional CradlePoint type can be ingested as required and it is easy to extend support.
Cradlepoint Site Assignment
- Navigate to Organization on the left pane, select Settings under Admin
- Organization > Inventory
- Click on ‘Cellular Edges’
Select the Cradlepoint and from dropdown option of ‘More’ on top right, click ‘Assign to Site’
Cradlepoint Device Details
- Navigate to Organization on the left nav, select Cellular under WAN Edges WAN Edges
- Organization > WAN Edges > Cellular
- One can list Cradlepoint assigned to each site by selecting the Site drop down.
- Clicking a specific Cradlepoint from either Site list or Inventory will navigate to Device Details.
- Device Details lists device properties, stats, SIM list, details.
- From device detail there is an option to Navigate to Netcloud dashboard as well.
Cradlepoint Device Insights
Site Insights provides details for Cradlepoint events that are ingested from NetCloud for each device.
Supported Device Events currently ingested can be found at:
https://api.mist.com/api/v1/const/other_device_events
Note: Additional events can be ingested as required and it is easy to extend support.
